The Biotech Park and its activities are closely associated with the objective of building a Rural- Urban linkage. While, focusing on Technology and Entrepreneurship development, the Biotech Park strives to bring in RURAL- URBAN linkage. The Biotech Park is situated in Siruseri village and surrounded by few other villages such as Pudupakkam, Mambakkam etc. This enables availability of unskilled labour in the proximity of production centers. They are trained to specific job requirement in the production units being set up by entrepreneur enabling employment opportunities for these villagers.

The raw material of most the enterprises being yield from various crops and plants, another major area of thrust in this rural urban linkage is sourcing raw material required by the enterprises within the park directly from the farmers. Thus the Biotech Park provides a platform for utilising the PRODUCE of rural farmers and converting into products for the urban market.

Most of the enterprises within the park now source their raw material from rural areas. Self help groups among the villagers enable organized work and better results. For the entrepreneur, she is assured of regular quality supply of raw material direct from the grower at competitive prices.

The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation plays a key role in linking the rural farmer and produce with the Biotech Park, through their self help groups.
